THE PRODUCT

UNPACK is a portable, table-top experiential training kit. Eight electronic puzzle modules, scenario-specific printed materials and props, packed into a carry case. A facilitator opens the case, sets up in under ten minutes and runs a live immersive challenge for up to eight participants. The scenario is either one of three standard options or built from scratch around your organisation's specific objectives.

No. The format shares some characteristics with escape rooms (puzzle-solving, time pressure, physical props) but the purpose, the methodology and the outcome are entirely different. UNPACK is a training intervention built around specific learning objectives. Everything in the experience is engineered to surface the behaviours, decisions and dynamics you are trying to develop or assess.

Most experiential learning tools are either digital, generic or both. UNPACK is physical, bespoke and designed to work in any room without any specialist setup. The methodology is rooted in military training principles: the idea that people perform differently when the stakes feel real. It has been applied at scale with organisations including Lloyds Banking Group, EY and PwC Academy. There is nothing directly comparable in the market.

Differently by design: they're different delivery models built for different jobs. We've written an honest side-by-side, including where the others are the better choice.

The standard kit includes three scenarios; RED at 90 minutes, ORANGE at 60 minutes and BLACK at 30 minutes. Bespoke scenarios are designed to whatever duration your programme requires.

Each kit supports up to eight participants. Two kits running simultaneously, managed by one facilitator, doubles the capacity to sixteen. For larger deployments, multiple kits can be configured to run concurrently. We have run UNPACK with groups ranging from eight people in a single session to thousands of participants across multiple sites over the course of a programme.

BUYING AND OWNING

You buy it. Once purchased, the kit belongs to your organisation entirely. There are no per-session fees, no ongoing licences and no requirement for us to be present at any delivery. Your facilitators are trained before the first session and run it independently from that point.

The full hardware set of eight electronic modules, all scenario packs with printed materials and props, a carry case and a full train-the-trainer programme. For bespoke builds, the purchase also includes the discovery workshop, narrative design, full scenario production and all custom physical components.

Standard kits with branding options take three to four weeks from order confirmation. Bespoke builds take six to eight weeks from discovery workshop sign-off, depending on the complexity of the scenario and the volume of custom components. If you have a specific deployment date, tell us early and we will work to it.

Yes technical support and a one year component warranty is included. If you want to refresh the scenario content, update the narrative for a new strategic priority or add a new scenario to the kit, we can do that too. The hardware is built to last and designed for repeated deployment.

Yes. One trained facilitator can manage two kits simultaneously. For larger simultaneous deployments we recommend one facilitator per two kits. We have supplied single kits for pilot programmes and multi-kit deployments for organisations running across hundreds of locations. The experience is consistent every time.

BESPOKE BUILDS

It starts with a discovery workshop where our team works with yours to understand your organisation, your objectives and the specific outcomes the experience needs to deliver. From that we design the scenario narrative, the puzzle architecture and the experience flow. You review and approve at every stage. We then build the physical kit in our Edinburgh fabrication workshop and deliver it with a full facilitator training programme.

Completely. The scenario, the narrative, the puzzles, the printed materials, the physical components, the module face plate colours, the 3D printed puzzle parts and the carry case finish are all built to your specification. We RAL colour-match all printed and 3D printed elements to your brand.

Yes, and that is exactly where we do our best work. We begin with the objective, not the format. We have built experiences around data literacy, leadership under pressure, post-merger values integration, safety culture, commercial awareness and graduate induction, among others.

Yes. The scenario content can be refreshed, updated or replaced entirely. The hardware is designed for repeated and long-term use.

FOR TRAINING ORGANISATIONS

Yes. Training organisations, L&D consultancies and independent facilitators use UNPACK to deploy with their clients as part of their own offering.

Only if you want them to. A bespoke kit is finished to your specification and can carry your branding throughout. The scenario, the printed materials, the case and the components can all reflect your organisation's identity rather than ours.

A half-day training session with your facilitators covering kit setup, scenario facilitation, debrief technique and troubleshooting. By the end of the session your team is equipped to run UNPACK independently. Ongoing support is available after that point.

PRACTICAL QUESTIONS

Any meeting room with a table large enough to spread the kit. No specialist space, no dedicated venue, no AV setup. UNPACK has been run in boardrooms, hotel conference suites, open-plan offices, airport terminals and training centres. If you have a table and a room, you have what you need.

The modules are USB-C charged. For deployments where a power source is not guaranteed, the battery ensures the experience runs without interruption.

Yes. We have delivered UNPACK across the UK, the UAE, the Middle East, Europe and beyond. International logistics, customs documentation and on-site installation support are all available.

The modules are built for repeated deployment, not occasional use. The hardware is designed and fabricated in-house by our Edinburgh team to a standard that withstands regular transport, setup and operation over an extended period. The carry case protects all components in transit.

Yes. All scenario content, printed materials and facilitator guides can be produced in English and Arabic as standard. Other languages are available on request. For organisations operating across the Middle East or other international markets, bilingual production ensures the experience lands with the same impact regardless of which language your participants are working in.
